Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Wani’s medical journey is grounded in India’s premier government super-specialty tertiary hospitals. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from the illustrious Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar, an apex autonomous tertiary institute recognized nationally for advanced medical research and high-complexity internal pathology.
Recognizing the surging global burden of chronic kidney failure, hypertension, and diabetic nephropathy, Dr. Wani pursued super-specialty training in Nephrology, securing entry into the coveted Osmania Medical College and General Hospital, Hyderabad. Osmania’s Department of Nephrology is renowned across Southern Asia for high-volume live-donor renal transplants, acute ICU hemodialysis, and specialized interventional access surgery. Demonstrating exemplary clinical acumen, research merit, and surgical precision, Dr. Wani was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for Annual Nephrology (2021) by Osmania Medical College.
In addition to his super-specialty training, Dr. Wani earned a prestigious Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes (2018) from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), London, United Kingdom. This dual expertise in diabetology and nephrology enables him to offer early, targeted pharmacological interventions—such as modern SGLT2 inhibitors and non-steroidal MRAs—halting microalbuminuria leakage and protecting nephrons decades before kidney failure threatens.
His distinguished clinical appointments include serving as Senior Resident in Nephrology at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, Senior Resident in Internal Medicine at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, and ex-Consultant in Interventional Nephrology at Park Healing Touch Hospital, Ambala.
